THE WATER’S EDGE

The Weekly Wardrobe: April 13-17, 2026

Happy Sunday, one and all! It’s a dreary and rainy day here, so I hope the weather where you are is better than mine! ☺️

What is it about rainy days that just seems to sap the creative energy right out of you? I can’t even muster up the focus and concentration to write something out. I keep hoping that as I type, my mind will somehow magically conjure up something to write about. I think this would be an extremely convincing reason as to why I need to develop some kind of note-taking habit. I could then look back what I took notes about and find some inspiration.

I’ve also tried to develop a habit of journaling this past week, but it hasn’t been panning out so far. I got the idea from replaying an older video game that I love — Life is Strange. It’s a great game that will really punch you in the emotions, and I highly recommend you play it. Anyway, the main character of the game journals, and includes drawings and even photographs in her entries. I found it a bit fascinating, and thought maybe I would give it a try myself. Since my nature is to try and dwell in the softness of life, I thought maybe I should give the photography thing a try as well, and even attach them to journal entries that I found inspiration from. I’m still trying to get that part kickstarted. 😂

I’d love to learn from others who journal on a regular basis as to what they write about, and how they managed to get it to stick. It feels so odd trying to write out thoughts and feelings, knowing that no one else will ever read it. It’s partially due to my innate paranoia — no matter what method I may use to journal, there is always a risk of it getting out and read by others. It doesn’t matter if it’s digital or analog (on paper). The only place my thoughts and feelings are truly private and “un-leakable” are inside my head. Because of that, it leaves me editing what to write down, and doesn’t that kinda defeat the purpose?

That sure does make things a bit anti-#VulnerablyMe, huh? 🙃

Moving on, I need to pull the trigger and schedule my Security+ exam. The longer I wait, the more I’ll forget what I learned in class last month — and I can’t believe it’s already been a month! I’ve already been feeling some of that knowledge slipping away, so I really need to buckle down and study so that I don’t fail the exam.

Since I am quite lacking in inspiration for a topic to write about for this week’s “The Exposed Shore” section, I’ll just jump right into my outfit recap. Without further ado, here is a look back at what I wore to work this past week. Here’s hoping for finding something inspiring in the week ahead, not to mention actually documenting it should I discover something. Have a great week!

I write about what I did that day and what I plan to do tomorrow. I used to write in paragraphs, but now I bullet journal. It lets me quickly glance at other days of the week to recall stuff.

Oh, that’s rather interesting. Perhaps that’s a part of my struggle — internally obligating myself to writing a story about what I’m feeling, rather than simply recapping the basics. Thanks for sharing!
